ATLANTA -- Parker McLachlin has created a unique charity program for the West Coast swing of the PGA TOUR in 2009 called "Birdies for Juniors."
Aloha. Welcome to Maui, and welcome to the 2009 season of the PGA TOUR.
It's one of those damp, gray winter days when the temperature outside is hovering in the low 40s and even when sitting inside there's a chill in your bones.
Each week during the 2009 season, PGATOUR.com will spotlight one key player in the field. For this week, it's Vijay Singh, a former Mercedes-Benz Championship winner who comes off a spectacular 2008 finish in which we won three tournaments and the PGA TOUR Playoffs for the FedExCup.
Birdies, pars or bogeys, the reaction was the same. Congratulations, Vijay. Way to go, Veej. What does it feel like, Mr. Singh?
Vijay Singh spent Christmas Day doing what he does just about every other day of the year: He hit balls on the range for four hours.
New season, new fantasy game, new rules, new excitement. Same chilly weather in southeast Michigan, so my Hawaii Dreaming starts in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . . it's go time.
It's a new year ... and a new format for PGATOUR.com's weekly expert picks and sleeper selections. We've changed the list of experts who are doing the selecting, as well as changing the process of how we're making our picks. Instead of having 10 experts each trying to explain why Tiger is their favorite, we are now taking a page from fantasy sports and "drafting" our picks.

A total of 33 players will compete at Mercedes-Benz Championship, the first event in the 2009 season. Who's playing? We've analyzed the field based on the following categories:

The 2008 season dawned with Tiger Woods saying that the calendar year Grand Slam was "easily within reason."
As the 2009 PGA TOUR season opens this week, PGATOUR.COM wondered what surprises are in store. So we asked our panel of experts for their best guesses, and here they are.
A new year means a new beginning. A fresh start. A clean slate.
Happy New Year. Do you know what my favorite thing about the beginning of the year on the PGA TOUR is? Well, it used to be getting all the free stuff over the winter. Your clothing company would send boxes and boxes of clothes. Your equipment company would send the absolute latest driver, irons, putters and wedges just to make sure that you were aware of all the latest developments in golf technology. And not
The season kicks off at The Plantation Course at Kapalua. Here is all you need to know about the course that hosts the Mercedes-Benz Championship.
It doesn't matter that there's ice and slush piled on my front steps in Michigan, the 2009 PGA TOUR season is here.
The start of another PGA TOUR season looms, and with it, the hopes and dreams of the players who will entertain us on a weekly basis. Each one wants to perform better in 2009 than in 2008; that's only natural. Of course, not every player will take a positive step forward. The law of averages suggests that for all those veterans who will play better in '09 than they did last year, a fairly equal
Paradise -- lost. In essence, that is the ultimate result of a year without a PGA TOUR tournament won.
